A lucky Massachusetts State Lottery player bought a winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 at a Bellingham convenience store on Saturday.

The ticket was purchased Saturday at the Hilltop Farms supermarket on Pulaski Boulevard.

In Powerball, players select five numbers between 1 and 69 and one Powerball number between 1 and 26. They then choose how many drawings they want to use those numbers for.

Players who match all five numbers and the Powerball number win the jackpot. They have a 1 in 292,201,338 chance of winning this way.

Players who match four numbers and the Powerball number win $50,000. They have a 1 in 913,129.18 chance of winning this way.

The Powerball jackpot prize is $315 million as of Sunday. Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 PM

The Massachusetts State Lottery publishes a complete list of winning tickets every day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.

So far, the largest lottery prize won in Massachusetts this year was worth $1 million a year for life.

The prize came from the lottery’s “Lifetime Millions” scratch card game. The winner claimed their prize on July 10 through a trust, electing to receive a one-time payment of $15.4 million.
