Reflecting on his captaincy after the match, the Indian captain said his senior teammates are open to giving him advice but he always trusts his judgement.

β€œI’ve been there enough to trust my judgment on what I do. I base the decisions I make on the field on that basis. Obviously there are players around me who are open to giving suggestions but at the end of the day I trust my mind and my judgment and that is all that matters when you are playing,” Rohit said on BCCI.TV.

While the entire world, including fans and pundits, are praising the team’s batting and bowling efforts, Rohit drew everyone’s attention to the side’s brilliant performance on the field where they bagged almost all the catches that came their way.

β€œIt may go unnoticed, but I was just told that 24 catches came our way, and we took 23. A great result, especially in India, where the ball doesn’t go into slips and because they were much further away than normal . The catches are difficult to take because the reaction time is very short.

β€œAnd I’ve seen everyone put a lot of effort into getting those things right. (T) Dilip (fielding coach) actually helps the players with some crucial catches that turn the game around,” he concluded.
