After Missouri’s loss to Texas A&M on Saturday, Army became the team with the longest active winning streak in the country.

Jeff Monken’s Black Knights posted a 49-7 victory over Tulsa on Saturday, propelling them to a perfect 5-0 record overall and a 4-0 mark in conference play in their first season in the American. The win extended the program’s overall winning streak to nine games.

Miami and Oregon are tied for second place, with each team currently on a six-game winning streak.

Army hasn’t lost since a 21-14 loss to UMass in late October. Since then, Monken’s team has not let any team score more than 21 points in a game.

And as usual, Army is playing the ball at a high clip. The team leads the nation in rushing yards per game with an average of 361.2 yards per outing, which is exactly 60 yards more than the next highest team (Boise State).

And the upcoming schedule doesn’t offer too many opportunities for this team to lose its winning streak. Army returns to West Point in the next two weeks for a two-game AAC homestand against lowly UAB and East Carolina. They then host struggling rivals Air Force before hitting the road for possibly their biggest test yet against North Texas.

Matchups with Notre Dame and also undefeated Navy also loom later in the season.

The Black Knights face the Blazers on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET.
