Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany were among the stars who arrived in Kansas City on Saturday for a charity event for Travis Kelce, his teammate and close friend, but the quarterback’s attention was apparently focused elsewhere.

The Chiefs star showed his support for his teammate’s Kelce Car Jam and celebrated his 35th birthday over the weekend.

But on Saturday night, Mahomes had another reason to root for.

The Kansas City Royals opened the ALDS series against the New York Yankees as baseball returned to the Bronx for the playoffs.

Kelce revealed that Mahomes, a huge fan of the Royals, anxiously watched another Kansas City sports team during a charity event.

“We don’t give a damn about Pat Mahomes,” Kelce said from the stage. “He’s glued to his Royals now.”

While the Kelce event was a success, the same couldn’t be said for the Royals. In a hard-fought, dramatic thriller in New York, Kansas City lost 6-5 in the first game of the series.

Game 2 will be played on Monday night in the Bronx when Bobby Witt Jr. and company. I hope to tie the series before returning to Kansas City.

Meanwhile, proceeds from the charity event will be donated to the Kelce 87 & Running Foundation, which raises funds for children in Kansas City and Cleveland.

Patrick and Brittany were there to show their support at the second annual Kelce Car Jam, a showcase of sleek cars owned by the Chiefs star and his friends.

The Chiefs quarterback is close friends with his tight end, while Brittany has formed a close bond with Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, over the past year.

The couple was greeted by dozens of fans as they arrived at a charity event in Kansas City.

Kelce and Mahomes will return to the field on Monday when the Chiefs take on the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium.

This will be the first time Jason Kelce has called a game involving his younger brother since the former Eagles center joined ESPN as an NFL analyst.

Jason and his parents, Donna and Ed Kelce, arrived at the charity event shortly before Mahomes. Kansas City defensive end George Karlaftis was also spotted at the Kelce Car Jam.

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes arrived in a black Ferrari, but Kelce planned to show off the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle he famously drove the Swift around Kansas City last year.

“This year is our second year hosting a car show, basically a block party style event that will showcase some of the best cars in town from the Fuel House, which is a cool car club,” Kelce said.

“And then, I guess, a few other people lined up.” It’ll be fun. I should have my old school ’70s Chevelle revved up and ready to rock and roll. If not, I’ll come in one of the cars I have.

Kelce and Swift have been on several double dates, including last month’s U.S. Open final, when both pairs watched Jannik Sinner defeat Taylor Fritz in the men’s final at Flushing Meadows.
