LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska athletic department inducted six former athletes into its hall of fame on Friday.

The list was topped by former Husker football defenseman Ndamukong Suh. Jordan Hooper, Carl Myerscough, Virginia Stahr, Mary Weatherholt and Emily Wong were also inducted.

All athletes were honored at Memorial Stadium with medals, trophies and a plaque in the Hall of Fame Plaza outside the Osborne Legacy Complex.

Ndamukong Suh

Suh was one of the most dominant defensive linemen in college football history and was the only defensive player to be named AP College Football Player of the Year.

He won a slew of major awards in 2009, including the Outland Trophy, the Lombardi Award, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and the Chuck Bednarik Award.

Suh was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and won Rookie of the Year as a defensive lineman for the Detroit Lions.

Jordan Hooper

Hooper was a three-time All-American and one of the most decorated women’s basketball players in Nebraska history.

In her final season as a Husker, Hooper was the 2014 Big Ten Player of the Year, a Wade Trophy finalist, a Wooden Award finalist and a first-team All-American.

She finished her career as the No. 2 all-time leading scorer in program history with 2,357 points and was the No. 13 pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft.

Carl Myerscough

Myerscough was a four-time NCAA shot put champion and a seven-time All-American.

At a school with many successful throwers, Myerscough is the most decorated in Nebraska men’s athletics history.

He won back-to-back national shot put titles in 2002 and 2003 and was the NCAA outdoor national shot put champion in 2003 and 2004.

Myerscough competed for his native Great Britain in the 2012 Olympics.

Virginia Stahr

Stahr was an All-American on the volleyball court and in the classroom as one of the greatest student-athletes in the history of Nebraska Athletics.

She finished her career as Nebraska’s all-time leader in kills and aces and ranked second in program history in blocks at the time.

Stahr was a three-time first-team Academic All-American and was the first person to become a two-time Volleyball Academic All-American of the Year.

Maria Weerholt

Weatherholt is the only Nebraska women’s tennis player to be the conference player of the year, the only Husker to be a singles All-American and the only player to win multiple All-American awards.

She was a two-time Big Ten Tennis Athlete of the Year and a Big 12 doubles champion.

Weatherholt owns all Nebraska records for singles wins (123), combined singles and doubles wins (208) and career singles winning percentage (.842).

Emily Wong

Wong is the most crowned conference champion in Nebraska women’s gymnastics history, winning a school-record nine conference titles.

She is the only gymnast in program history to win a regional title in all four events, and she also added an all-around title.

Nebraska also had three top-10 and two top-five national finishes during Wong’s career.
