The Recovery Resource Center is hosting a fundraiser at Dove Pointe to reach goals for the next budget calendar

SALISBURY, Md. – The Recovery Resource Center hosted a breakfast fundraiser at Dove Pointe to reach their financial goals for the fiscal year.

The Resource Center’s mission is to be a lifeline for addiction recovery, and Wes Davis, a recovering alcoholic, was at the event, he played piano and shared his story, he said, he gives full credit to RRC for changing his life.

“It saved my life, I wouldn’t be here, and I certainly wouldn’t feel as good about life as I do now. I am grateful and feel like I have been given another chance because I am recovering.”

The RRC has been a vital force in helping the lives of people in recovery throughout the Salisbury community, and at the fundraiser they raised $30,000.
RRC Executive Director Lisa Campbell said this new funding will help them continue the organization’s success.

“We are operating on a very small budget, we would like to expand that budget so that we can expand what we provide to the community and help more people find recovery, achieve recovery and sustain recovery.”

Officials from Salisbury University and Hudson Behavioral Health, among others, were all present at the breakfast, and RRC board chair Dr. Patricia Riley remains gracious for the continued support RRC receives. “Individuals, agencies and community partners making three-year commitments, without them we couldn’t function. So we are grateful for that.”

She encourages people struggling with addiction to visit the RRC. She remains hopeful that the Resource Center will continue to shape the lives of those in need in the Salisbury community. “There is hope and if there is one person who can achieve their sobriety, it will impact them, their families and the generations of their families.” Riley said.
