The Scout delves into the data to help Fantasy Premier League managers pick the best Tottenham Hotspur players ahead of their very friendly run of fixtures.

Spurs are set to face a series of opponents that will undoubtedly draw interest from both sides of the pitch for their key assets.

According to the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), five of their next eight games score just two, with Ange Postecoglou’s side hosting West Ham United, Aston Villa, Ipswich Town and Fulham in that period.

Son Heung-min (£9.9 million), Brennan Johnson (£6.4 million) and James Maddison (£7.5m) have all had a strong start this season.

All three were involved in four goals, with the mid-priced Johnson mirroring Son’s two goals and two assists.

However, Son’s average of 6.6 points per game (ppm) is comfortably ahead of his teammates in midfield, with both Johnson and Maddison averaging 4.8 ppm, along with the centre-back. Micky van de Ven (£4.5 million).

Van de Ven has combined two assists with Spurs’ two clean sheets, while fellow defenders Christian Romero (£5.1 million) and Pedro Porro (£5.5m) have scored once each.

Signing summer Dominic Solanke (£7.6m) meanwhile seems to be well in place. Both of his goals this season have come in the last two matchweeks against Brentford and Manchester United.

Who is most likely to score?

The underlying attacking statistics can help managers get a better idea of which players are most likely to score goals.

Johnson’s numbers immediately catch the eye. His 18 shots into the box are SIX TIMES Son’s three and place him third of ALL players in Fantasy this season, just one behind Son’s 19 Mohammed Salah (£12.7 million).

Solanke also impresses in this analysis, as he has only played four matches. His role at the center of the Spurs attack has had a significant impact on his number of big chances – situations where the player is expected to score.

Solanke’s eight big chances are TWICE the total of any teammate and leave him tied for third of all players this season.

The striker is getting a big chance every 44.6 minutes on average in his first season at Ange Postecoglou, faster than any other striker this season and more than TWICE as fast as his average of 111.7 minutes in his last season at AFC Bournemouth in 2023/24.

In defense, Romero and Porro’s numbers are also encouraging. Romero’s seven shots into the box underline his immense threat from free kicks and corners, placing him in just one spot among defenders.

Porro’s 11 shots, meanwhile, are among the top in his position in Fantasy, although only two of them came from inside the penalty area.

Top goal for Spurs in 2024/2025
Player Shots Shots in box Great opportunities Goal conversion
Johnson 18 18 4 11.1%
Solanke 13 12 8 15.4%
Madison 12 9 4 8.3%
Kulusevsky 11 8 1 9.1%
Porro 11 2 0 9.1%
Romero 7 7 2 14.3%
Son 7 3 2 28.6%
Who has been the most creative?

The creativity numbers highlight each player’s potential for assists Dejan Kulusevski (£6.2m) the best player for Spurs in the first six Gameweeks.

The Swede’s 20 key passes rank SECOND among all players in Fantasy, narrowly behind the 21 of Dwight McNeil (£5.6m).

There’s little here to separate Son and Maddison. Both produced thirteen key passes, with the former just taking the lead for big chances created four-on-three.

Porro impresses again when assessed against other defenders in Fantasy, with his twelve key passes ranking third.

What’s notable here, however, is that Porro’s prospects appear to have taken a hit due to his lack of regular duties this season.

Last season, the Spaniard’s 100 corners and 21 free-kicks were both more than any teammate. But this season, Porro has not taken a single corner and has only provided two crosses from free kicks.

This could be especially important when weighing Spurs’ top Fantasy picks, as they have produced 32 shots from set pieces, the highest total in the league.

Player Key cards Great opportunities created Corners Free kick cross
Kulusevsky 20 3 26 0
Son 13 4 0 0
Madison 13 3 26 7
Porro 12 1 0 2

So, who are the best Spurs players to invest in?

Son‘s potential for huge prizes is hard to ignore, with the South Korean already scoring 16 and 10 points in his five appearances.

While there is no denying that his lack of shots in the box is somewhat worrying, Son’s world-class finishing is highlighted by the fact that he converts 28.6 percent of his shots into goals. Furthermore, the four big chances he creates are more than any teammate.

Johnson’s numbers are promising for a mid-range midfielder, but the only problem – unlike Son – is his finishing. Although his goal conversion rate of 11.1 percent is higher than his paltry 9.4 percent from 2023/2024, it still appears that he continues to struggle to convert his scoring opportunities.

SolankeThe stats suggest he could be a smart choice for managers’ frontlines in the coming Gameweeks. He converted 50 percent of his big chances last season, compared to just 25 percent so far in 2024/25. If he can get his finishing skills back to last season’s levels, Solanke can score even more in the coming weeks.

At the back, Porro clearly offers the most attacking potential, but his lack of set pieces does work against him. Instead of, RomeroThe high threat around the opposition could make him the most productive option. The Argentine’s five goals last season were more than any defender in Fantasy and he looks well placed to repeat that feat in the remainder of 2024/25.
