After a quiet midweek at the box office, GOAT recovered on its 10th day, collecting ₹13 crore, taking its domestic total to nearly ₹198 crore.

The Vijay-starrer, which had a robust start with ₹137 crore in the first four days, added just ₹60 crore in the next six days. Despite the dip, the film is expected to cross the ₹200-crore mark, making it one of the most successful ventures of director Venkat Prabhu.

Mid-week, the box office took a dip to single digits, but Saturday’s rebound was significant, largely driven by an extended holiday season. With Monday being a national holiday in several states for Eid-E-Milad, GOAT is poised for further growth at the box office.

The Tamil version saw its occupancy increase from 33.07% on Friday to 56.74%. The Telugu and Hindi versions also showed higher occupancy.

In addition to its theatrical release, GOAT is also expected to debut on OTT platforms soon. It is speculated that the film will be released on Netflix around four weeks after its premiere.

Reports have it that the OTT version will feature an extended cut of the film, with over 18 minutes of deleted scenes, including comic moments involving Vijay’s younger character, which were removed to comply with theatrical release limits. Director Venkat Prabhu has confirmed the release of this extended cut on streaming platforms, giving fans a more complete viewing experience.

Meanwhile, while GOAT is still enjoying success at the box office, Vijay’s recent announcement of his retirement has left fans looking forward to his next and final project, Thalapathy 69.

Slated for an October 2025 release, the film is directed by H Vinoth and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Vijay’s decision to retire marks the end of an era, with Thalapathy 69 marking his cinematic farewell.
