“Fly high, Laney,” recalls TFHS softball teammate

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The local softball community is mourning the loss of one of its own.

Laney Morgan, a junior at Twin Falls High School, died Sunday morning from injuries suffered in a car accident in Wendell.

Morgan’s teammates honored her memory Sunday night by releasing balloons and painting the school rock with quotes like “Fly high Laney” and “Forever our number 21.”

She was a catalyst for the Bruins during her high school career, helping them finish third at the 4A state championship in May.

She also played for several club teams, including Sweets, whose photos were shared on his Facebook page.

“Keep fighting for those fences in heaven,” read one comment.
