Nick Kyrgios must have clearly entered into a personal battle against Jannik Sinner. Even before the US Open Finally, the Australian wanted to express some venomous criticism of the Italian, still referring to the doping issue.

Nick first published a poll to find out who his followers thought would have won the New York Slam final, using two very explicit emojis in the sentence dedicated to Sinner. Emojis with a bottle of ointment and a hand with a pair of gloveswith a clear allusion to the doping problem in which Sinner has been involved in recent months.

To a user who posted an old photo of him and Anna Kalinskaya, his ex-girlfriend, Kyrgios – thinking about the relationship between the Russian and Sinner – responded with a sad: “Second serve”

Jannik eventually won the second Major of his career at the US Open by beating Taylor Fritz in three sets, responding to Kyrgios’ attacks with good performances.

Immediately after the match between the Italian and the American, the Australian wrote a new message, in which he ignored the winner and comforted the loser.

“Heads up, champ. It’s been an incredible two weeks. You should be incredibly proud of yourself,” was Kyrgios’ first reaction, preferring to celebrate the American tennis player’s two weeks.

These were just the latest attacks that Nick shared on social media, against his young rival. The Australian, like many other colleagues, took the side of the Italian, but they understand that Jannik was found NOT GUILTY (we must emphasize that), so any attack on the Italian is unfair in my opinion, despite the fact that I understand the position of Nick and other players on the matter (and not on the player).
