EUGENE — Oregon has the nation’s longest non-conference home winning streak in college football: 33 games — two more than Utah, the holder of the second-longest winning streak, and nine more than Penn State.

The last time the Ducks lost a non-conference game at Autzen Stadium was on September 20, 2008, when they lost 37-32 to none other than Boise State, which will be looking to end Oregon’s winning streak at home on Saturday.

The Broncos’ win, led by Kellen Moore and Ian Johnson nearly 16 years ago, also marked the first of three victories for BSU over UO, which has never won in the series before.

These are points that Dan Lanning pointed out to the No. 7 Ducks during this week’s game.

“We’ve talked about it. Our players are certainly aware of the history of this game and are excited to have the opportunity to step onto the field,” Lanning said.

Oregon has an 88-11 home record since losing to Boise State and is looking to extend its win column, 5,831 days after its last non-conference loss at Autzen.

The Broncos also defeated the Ducks 19–8 to open the 2009 season in a game most remembered for LaGarrette Blount hitting Byron Hout afterwards. The teams met again in the 2017 Las Vegas Bowl, a 38–28 Broncos victory in what was Mario Cristobal’s first game as Oregon’s head coach.

The Ducks likely already know some of the history of the, albeit short, series that will continue in 2026 and are now focusing on writing their own series.

“They didn’t beat me,” receiver Traeshon Holden said. “Coach Lanning wasn’t there when they won. They didn’t beat any of us. We’ve got to go out there and start another streak.”
